The following are emails between myself and Mats Lewans. I have omitted a few personal jokes and comments.

I've been challenged on my assertion that the experimenters "could bring their own calorimetric instruments". (On the Swedish Radio blog, and by Krivit).

(You were the first to give the serial numbers of the hand-held meter and temperature probes, so I mistakenly thought that you brought them.)

I've put together a preliminary table from all the reports :

and wonder if you have any comments.

I'm also wondering if Rossi told you (or any of the other experimenters) that you HAD to use his instruments -- other than the built-in probes and data-logger, of course.  Or stopped anyone from making any measurement. (Except for Gamma Ray spectra in the Jan experiment, of course.)

Hi Alan,

Krivit's right. All the temperature instruments were provided by Rossi.

In the April tests the Amperemeter Digimaster DM201 was provided by Rossi but I overtook it and calibrated it afterwards. Since then it has been in my possession.
The multimeter was mine.
The instrument measuring electromagnetic fields from 5 Hz to 3 GHz was provided by Bianchini.

In the Sept test the clamp amp meters were mine (one of them being the Digimaster), as well as the multimeter and the Residual-current device.

Same for October test. At the October test, officially no one was allowed to bring own instruments. However, Rossi asked me if I wanted to bring mine for measuring electricity. As I understood him he wanted to avoid confusion if several people would ask to attach their instruments.
Thermocouples, precision scale and bathroom scale were provided by Rossi.
After the tests we had the opportunity to calibrate the thermo couples used to measure the temperature of the secondary circuit.

Oct 28. The Testo thermo couples used in previous experiments were used to measure temperature of inlet water and outlet steam. I think Rossi's computer was used as previously, and also another computer, probably from the customer.

All radiation measurements has been done with instruments provided by Bianchini, with exception for the yellow meter with series number 018895, shown in some pictures and used for example at the April 28 test (not reported). It measures milli Sievert. I think it is originally provided by Focardi but is in possession of Rossi.

I hope this helps.

/Mats

It sure does!

Two other points :

a) Do you know if Galantini brought his own "steam quality/humidity" meter?
    Delta Ohm HD37AB1347 HP474AC probe
b) K&E report indicates that they measured steam quality -- but this time with a "Testo 650".  Do you know if they brought it?

Hi Alan,

a) I don't know.
b) I'm quite sure K&E didn't bring any instruments.
